Union Min to release stamp on LV Prasad

Hyderabad, Sep 2: The Postal Department will release a commemorative stamp in memory of legendary filmmaker and Dada Saheb Phalke awardee L V Prasad here on September 5.

Union Minister of State for Communcations and IT Shakeel Ahmed will release the stamp at a function in which Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Union Minister of State for Coal and film personality Dasari Narayana Rao will participate, a release said here YESTERday.

Born in an agricultural family in rural Andhra Pradesh in 1908, Mr Prasad, who produced memorable hits like Gruha Pravesham, Ilavelpu, Sharada, Milan, Khilona, Daadi Maa, Manohara, Missamma and EK Duje Ke Liye also established state-of-the-art post production facilities across the country, including the Prasad Film Laboratories.

The 50-year-old Prasad Group started by L V Prasad has facilities and offices in India, Singapore, Dubai and Hollywood. The Group also has Multiplex and IMAX theatre here and L V Prasad and TV Academy at Chennai.
