TDP to agitate in support of farmers
Hyderabad, Sep 2 (UNI) Charging the Congress Government with failure to come to the rescue of families of over 3,250 farmers, who had committed suicide, the opposition Telugu Desam Party(TDP) today threatened to lay a siege to the Secretariat along with the affected family members of the farmers.
Talking to newspersons here, Party spokesperson N Rajakumari and General Secretary E Peddi Reddy said the party would first organise protests in all the districts in support of farmers.
They claimed that so-called farmer-friendly Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was busy finalising Cabinet expansion and revival of Council to accommodate 'disgruntled' leaders in the party at a time when the families of farmers were in tears with no remunerative price for their produce and substandard farm inputs.
