Sonia greets people of Kerala on Onam

New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi has greeted the people of Kerala, living in any part of the country, on the occasion of the Onam festival.

"This beautiful festival,which unites every one regardless of their religion, symbolises the remarkable cultural,spiritual and artistic traditions of Kerala,"she said in here message.

Mrs Gandhi said it was heartening to see that these traditions were so faithfully upheld and continued to thrive.

"Whether it is the personal celebration of Onam at home with prayers, Rangoli, pookalam and payasa, or through great public events like the Trichur procession and boat races, the spirit of Kerala and its people shines through bringing joy and pride to King Mahabali's heart," she observed.
