Soaring mercury and humidity bothers Kolkatans
Kolkata, Sept 2 (UNI) With no showers for the past two days the mercury soared as did the humidity causing immense discomfort to the Kolkatans today.
The Met officials informed that the city had received a minimal rainfall of 0.2 mm in the last few days.
The maximum temperature went up to 35.8 degree Celsius, whereas, the minimum was 28.1 degree Celsius, the officials said.
With the low pressure weakening in the adjoining areas of West Bengal, the frequency of the rainfall in the state has decreased, they said.
However, they forecast a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of thunder squalls in the next 24 hours.
They further said the gangetic plain of the state might receive a good amount of rain in the next few hours.
The relative humidity also remained high at 89 per cent.
