Police nab motor cycle thieves, seize Rs 12 lakh worth vehicles
Mysore, Sep 2 (UNI) The city police today arrested three persons and seized two wheelers worth Rs 12 lakhs stolen by them in the city and Bangalore.
City Police Commissioner Praveed Sood told newsmen here today that the accused Mohammedd Akbar from Bangalore had stolen 23 bikes in Mysore and Bangalore cities. The modus operandi used by the accused that he would sell the vehicles in rural areas after changing the number plates.
He said in another case, police nabbed two persons and seized six two wheelers allegedly stolen by them. The accused Humayun from Chamarajanagara and another Ahmad Khan from Satyamangala in Tamil Nadu stole the vehicles from Nanjangud and sold in Gundlupet.
Regarding vehicle thefts, Mr Sood said that on an average of 200 bikes and 40 cars were stolen every year in the city.
