Pakistan, India have plan to play one-day series in US: PCB

Lahore, Sep 2 (UNI) Under the cover of the agreement to play 15 offshore ODIs in the next five years, Pakistan Cricket Board now says that Indian and Pakistan boards have plans to play a one-day series in North America after next year's World Cup.

''We are keen to play India at off-shore venues where there are a large number of a Pakistani and Indian expatriates such as in Canada and the United States,'' media reports quoted PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan as saying.

Interestingly, Shaharyar has all along been advocating that playing Indo-Pak matches too often would lose the charm of such matches.

Shaharyar, however, said Pakistan's schedule is very tight before the World Cup and the boys wanted some rest before the Champions Trophy. So, he said such a series will have to be held only after the World Cup -- scheduled for March-april next year -- and without disturbing ICC's Future Tours Programme.

''We will seek ICC clearance for the proposed series and work out the details of television rights and financial aspects of the proposed series in North America,'' he said.

Pakistan and India used to play the Sahara Cup series in Toronto in the 90s, but it was stopped later.
