Nitish favours govt-private participation for better education

Bhagalpur, Sep 2 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today stressed on the need for govt-private participation to provide quality education to students of Bihar.

Addressing a function in a leading private school here, Mr Kumar lauded the efforts of private sector in education, saying time had now come for a joint effort by the government and private organisations to ensure quality education to the students.

'' The state government has initiated several steps to remove the rot in present system of education and results are now becoming visible, '' he added.

He called upon the parents to provide better education to their children and never treat them as liability.

'' If you give better education to your wards, it would make them a good citizen in coming days, '' he said adding the state government would extend all sort of help in this regard.

There was no dearth of merit in students of Bihar, but creating congenial atmosphere for promoting their talent was need of the hour, he maintained.
