Nine pilgrims killed in road accident in Chitradurga

Chitradurga, Sep 2 (UNI) Nine people including seven women, were killed and two injured seriously, when a van in which they were travelling collided head-on against a truck near Begalarahatti in Chitradurga district this morning, police said.

The accident occurred when the vehicle which was on the way to Shirdi after visiting sites of pilgrimage in Karnataka said.

Nine people, all from Maharashtra, were killed on the spot.

The injured were admitted into General Hospital in the city.

All the deceased were identified and hailed from Thane district.
