New Tamil channel to be launched in TN from Sep 6
Chennai, Sep 2 (UNI) Another Tamil private satellite channel, Makkal TV (People's Channel), will be launched from September six in Tamil Nadu.
The channel promoted by the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), will not show scenes depicting smoking and drinking and will not air films on a daily basis. However, award winning films would be telecast.
The channel had been aptly named as it would address people's issues, highlighting the day-to-day problems they face, PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss told the media here today.
The Channel would be officially launched by DMK president and Chief Miniser M Karunanidhi in a ceremony to be attended by Union Ministers Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dayanidhi Maran.
Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss will preside over the function, which will also be attended by PMK President G K Mani, TNCC president M Krishnaswamy, Dravidar Kazhagam president K Veeramani, CPI(M) State Secretary N Varadharajan and CPI State Secretary D Pandian.
