NCP for CBI inquiry into crime against minorities
Patna, Sep 2 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today submitted a memorandum to Bihar Governor R S Gavai demanding CBI inquiry into the spurt in crime against minorities during last few weeks in different parts of the state.
A NCP delegation, under the leadership of senior party leader Aquil Haidar, called on the Governor and urged him to ensure CBI inquiry into the alleged politician-criminal-police nexus.
Mr Haidar alleged that the local goons had raped seven Dalit women in Suryagarha but police refused to lodge the case.
Four Dalits were lynched in Bhojpur district while police remained mute spectators.
Referring to the recent boat tragedy in Ganga river near Patna, he said it was the result of failure of government machinery.
