Indian citizenship for Hindu, Muslim Pakistanis

Bikaner, Sept 2 (UNI) Indian citizenship will be awarded to those Hindu and Muslim Pakistani citizens who have been residing in the state for more than seven years, authorities said.

District Collector Aloke Gupta said the applications of the Muslim Pakistani citizens who want Indian citizenship have been forwarded to the state government for processing.

The processing fees for citizenship range from Rs 3,250 and goes up to Rs 10,500 in different categories.

He said those Pakistani citizens who have not applied till now but wish to get Indian citizenship can also apply, provided they have resided in the state for more than seven years now.

Around 2,500 Pakistani citizens residing in the border areas were awarded Indian citizenship in March this year.
