Haryana govt releases Rs 141 crore for Delhi Metro project

Chandigarh, Sep 2 (UNI) The Haryana Government today decided to release the first instalment of Rs 141.75 crore for the construction of extension of Delhi Metro to Gurgaon.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the state Cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here.

The Cabinet also approved the draft of the agreement to be signed with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, the executing agency of this project.

The total cost of the 7.05 km project starting from Delhi-Haryana border to Sector-29 in Gurgaon is Rs 570 crore, excluding the cost of land and rolling stock. This expenditure will be shared by State and Central Governments in the ratio of 80:20.

The Cabinet also decided to give a grant of Rs 111 crore for funding of the Delhi section of the Delhi metro upto Delhi-Gurgaon border.
