Four killed in two road accidents in HP

Shimla, Sep 2 (UNI) At least four people were killed in two separate road accidents in Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hrs, the police sources said.

Two people were killed after their tempo plunged into the Chamera II hydel power project reserviour at Bagga, 22 km from here, on the Chamba-Bharmaour road in the district.

The sources said yesterday the cause of the accident, which occurred at about 1500 hrs, was not immediately known.

The bodies had been pulled out of the reservoir and sent to Chamba for a post mortem examination, the sources said.

While one of the dead has been identified as Surender, the identity of the other person was not yet known and sources said a case has been registered and investigations were on.

In the second incident, two people were killed after their Mahindra pick up rolled down into a gorge at Bogtu in Kinnuar district late Thursday night.

The sources said the cause of the accident was not known, adding that the dead have been identified as Rajman (29) and Sanjeev (28).

The district administration has announced an immediate relief of Rs 10,000 each to the next of the kin of the dead.

A case has been registered and investigations were on, the sources added.
