Flood, tourist control rooms set up in Kashmir
Srinagar, Sep 2 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today decided to set up a control room and geared up the state machinery to meet any exigency in the wake of emerging flood situation in the Valley, an official spokesman said.
He said the control room has been set up at the Police Control Room here with representatives of different departments.
For any enquiry, the general public has been asked to contact on telephone numbers -- 2477629, 2481630 (Ext 4292) and 2311085.
A similar control room with telephone number 2416478 has also been set up at Ganderbal Police headquarters, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, in view of inclement weather situation in the Kashmir valley, tourism control rooms have been established for assistance and information to the stranded visitors, he said.
The spokesman said the control rooms have been established at tourist reception centres at Srinagar, Pahlagam, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Leh and Kargil. The control rooms would work round the clock till the situation stabilised, he added.
