Century Textiles launches premium men's wear collection

Mumbai, Sep 2 (UNI) Century Textiles, from the BK Birla group, and one of the country's biggest textile houses, has introduced it's premier menswear apparel through it's exclusive brand outlets, multi brand outlets (MBO) and large format stores in Mumbai.

Addressing a meeting of selected Mumbai-based retailers yesterday, the President of Century Textiles, RK Dalmiya, said, ''We are planning to make 35 retailers in Mumbai as our MBOs who would exclusively display our apparel products prepared with 100 per cent cotton''.

He said that only those retailers who fall under the category of AA+ have been selected by the company for the purpose.

Jitendra Chokshi has been chosen as the distributor in Mumbai.

The company has shifted its focus from fabric exports to domestic apparel market which has fetched the galloping growth of 140 per cent during the year 2005-06 when compared to previous year's performance, he said. During the period of April-December in 2005 alone, the company had registered a growth of 180 per cent.

Mr Dalmiya said that they have plans to launch its women's wear collection within six months. Currently all the apparel products of the company are exclusively for men.

The price range of the apparels varies between Rs 495 to Rs 1295 for shirts and Rs 795 to Rs 1500 in trousers.

The business head of the company, Subrata Siddhanta, told UNI that they would soon launch garments for women, children and senior citizens.
