BPCL employees threaten strike
New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) Employee unions representing the marketing and refinery divisions of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited have threatened to go on strike later this month if their demands relating to salary and benefits were not met.
In a joint memorandum to the BPCL Chairman and Managing Director, 18 unions representing the employees in different parts of the country demanded that the Performance Linked Incentive Scheme for 2004-05 and 2005-06 be recalculated.
While the quantum of profit allocated to workmen under the scheme was 1-10 per cent, the management received 5-75 per cent, the employee unions said.
The unions said they would strike work on September 19 and 20 if their grievances were not redressed.
