Arjun Tudu scores hat-trick as Services outplay MFA Kurali

Chandigarh, Sep 2 (UNI) Arjun Tudu held the spotlight by scoring the first hat-trick of the tournament, netting six goals as Services Sports Control Board routed last-minute substitute entry Mehar Football Academy of Kurali 13-0 in a one-sided Group D league match in the fourth Administrator's Challenge Cup U-17 Football Tournament here today.

MFA Kurali substituted Jammu and Kashmir Football Academy which withdrew at the last minute. Indian Football Association of West Bengal have also withdrawn from the fray.

Enjoying total control over the match, Services Sports Control boys found an easy prey in the MFA. Striker Arjun Tudu displayed brilliant form as he scored his team's first (5th minute), third (30th minute), fourth (31st), sixth (43rd) seventh (44th) and eighth (48th) goals.

Other scorers were Y Bobo Singh (8th and 67th minutes), Kh Chinglen Singh (37th and 50th minutes), Kiran Kumar (53rd), Birju Tudu (55th) and Elvis Kipgen (57th).

In another match, Sports Authority of India (East) and New Public School, Sector 18 Chandigarh played a two-all drawn match.

It was NPS which drew the first blood as Sukhman found the net with an angular shot in the 37th minute. Stunned with the reverse, SAI (East) neutralised the lead on minute after resumption as speedy Dipankar Thapa in his solo effort dribbled past three defenders before unleashing a powerful shot.

Maintaining their pressure, SAI (East) forged ahead in the 52nd minute. Dipankar sent a measured floater for Asad Khan to score with a header. The NPS players then went all out and pressured hard. They were rewarded in the 61st minute as Ashpreet converted a pass from Suresh to restore parity.

In a group A fixture, Haryana routed Chhattisgarh 10-1 with Mandeep scoring in the seventh, 31st, 37th and 40th minutes.

Vivek (23rd, 66th) and Vikas (42nd, 59th and 89th) were the other scorers. Evan Anthony got the lone goal for Chattisgarh.

In a group B outing, St. Stephen's Football Academy, Sector 45 Chandigarh beat talented and spirited Goa by the margin of 4-1.

St. Stephen's first goal wasscored by L Kamei through a spot kick in the 14th minute. St. Stephen's got their second goal through G. Palmei in the 32nd minute.

Nikhil Parakar made it 3-0 with a header off a fine cross sent by Raoul Lorni from the left flank. Raymond of Goa reduced the margin in 85th minute.

St. Stephen's striker G. Pal Mei rounded off the tally in the 86th minute.
