'Apharan' inspires teenagers to kidnap boy
Aligarh, Sep 2 (UNI) It was a juvenile kidnap story inspired by two Bollywood potboilers.
But Hrithik Roshan's 'Krissh' prevailed over Ajay Devgan's 'Apharan' landing Himanshu (15) and Jagatpal (14) in jail.
These two class VIII students, drawing inspiration from recent hit 'Apharan', kidnapped Ayush (9) of the same locality and demanded a ransom of Rs five lakh from his father.
Ayush, a class IV student and an admirer of Hrithik's super effort in 'Krissh', not only untied his hands, but also manged to inform other residents. The residents called police which led to the arrest of his juvenile abductors.
The 'thriller' was enacted in Quarsi police station area of the district early this week. But the only flaw of the crime thriller's script was that the young villians were too young to play Bollywood baddies.
Abducters Himanshu and Jagatpal later said they planned the kidnapping after watching 'Apharan'.
District Police Chief Akhil Kumar told UNI that the boys had been arrested and would be produced before a juvenile court. He also admitted the crime was committed under the influence of films.
