102 teachers selected for Maharashtra govt's teachers' awards

Kolhapur, Sept 2 (UNI) A total number of 102 teachers in Maharashtra have been selected by the state Government for the teachers awards including 'State Teachers Award' and 'Adarsh Shikshika Award' for the 2005-2006 years.

Informing this to reporters here today, Mr M R Kadam, Deputy Director Education Kolhapur division said that the selected teachers will be feliciated with awards by Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna at a function to be organised in Kolhapur on september five on the eve of the Teachers Day.

The number of selected teachers include primary teachers 37, secondary teachers 38, adivasis section 16, adarsh shikshika (women teacher) 8, each one from state's eight deputy directors offices, special awards for arts and sports teacher two and one respectively, special award for the teacher in the handicapped students school, he informed.

Maharashtra state Assembly Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar will preside over the function, which will be attended by Education Minister Vasant Purke, District guardian minister Harshwardhan Patil, Mr Kadam added.
