Viral fever claims four lives in HP

Hamirpur, Sep 1 (UNI) Four people have so far lost their lives due to viral fever in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, with two more deaths being reported from the district last night, official sources said today.

While Kanta, 24, a resident of Cholthra village of the Mandi district died of Hepatitis, Arti died due to brain fever at the district hospital here yesterday.

Meanwhile, reports of more and more people falling prey to the deadly fever are also coming from various parts of the district.

The district hospital here was full of patients suffering with the killer fever and the authorities were finding it difficult to cope up with the rush.

Hospital Special Medical Officer (SMO) Battan Singh, while confirming about the spread of viral fever in the district, told UNI that efforts were being made to control it.

Appealing to the people to approach medical officers in case they were experiencing high fever, he said this was the only way to control its spread and prevent people from falling its prey.
