Suspected Bangladeshi arrested with heroin

New Delhi, Sept 1: Police have seized heroin worth more than a crore from South Delhi's posh Greater Kailash area and arrested a person in this connection.

Area DCP Anil Shukla said Abu Tahir, was arrested yesterday along with 1.3 kg of heroin worth nearly 1.3 crore in the international market.

Though he claims to hail from Jharkhand, we suspect him to be a Bangladeshi who is part of a larger cartel operating in the area which feeds the Capital's market, he said.

The 'consignment' was stored in small packets in a bag to avoid detection.

Investigations are on to get his antecedants and the contraband's destination of origin and supply, the DCP added.
