Superior ALSCI Centre inaugurated at Army Hospital

New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) A state-of-the-art artificial limbs centre and rehabilitation facility was inaugurated at the Army Hospital here today.

The integrated facility for treating and rehabilitating patients with debilitating spinal cord injuries also includes a modern physiotherapy centre.

Inaugurating the centre at Army's Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment, Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services Surg Vice Admiral VK Singh complimented the army doctors for establishing a superior medical facility.

The 35-bed facility is equipped with ultra-modern Isokinetic system with a bio-feedback which will help improve the muscle power of paralysed patients, special weight bearing and balancing systems for people with spinal cord injuries and will manufacture light weight limbs for amputees.

It will be of immense help to those wounded in terrorism and counter insurgency operations.
