LIC's Rajahmundry Div tops charts in 'Market Plus' policy

Rajahmundry, Sep 1 (UNI) The Rajahmundry Division of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has achieved a record in Market Plus Scheme, selling more than 8,000 polices and achieving a first premium income of Rs 21 crore, Senior Divisional Manager R Ramakrishnan today claimed.

Addressing the press on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the LIC, Mr Ramakrishnan said the division sold 63,821 polices with a first premium income of Rs 82 crore till August 15 as against the target of 4.04 lakh policies with first premium income of Rs 201 crore for the current year.

The total premium income as on July 31 was Rs 166.78 crore, he said.

Mr Ramakrishnan said 4,582 policies amounting to Rs 30 crore had been paid on maturity and 1,097 death claims amounting to 9.7 crore settled till July 31.

As many as 32,168 policy loans amounting to Rs 26 crore were sanctioned in the current year The insurance company had also taken up various welfare activities like Bhima Gram, distribution of tricycles, setting up water coolers and holding health camps, Mr Ramakrishnan added.

LIC's new 'Bhima' Policy would be launched on September four, LIC Marketing Manager Chaganti Visweswara Rao said.
