Kolhapur division of LIC leads in single premium business

Kolhapur, Sept 1 (UNI) The Life Insurance Corporation's (LIC) Kolhapur division has achieved the distinction of being ranked number one, in the single premium new business during the year April 1 to August 15, 2006 in the western zone.

The senior divisional manager of LIC VD Sudame told reporters here today that the Kolhapur division which comprises the three districts of Kolhapur, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg earned Rs 37.36 crore in policy premium collections during this period, thereby displaying an increase of 722 per cent in the single premium policy.

In the current financial year Kolhapur division collected policy premiums of about Rs 45.92 crore through a total 41,596 policies including single and non-single premiums, he added.
