Kerala court orders immediate deportation of Pak. national
Kochi, Sep 1 (UNI) The Ernakaulam Chief Judicial Magistrate today ordered immediate deportation of Pakistani national Gul Mohamed Khan, who was arrested on April 10 this year for over staying here.
Magistrate P D Sarangdharan directed the Foreigners Registration Officer to take the necessary steps for the deportation of Khan and to realise Rs 15,000 from him towards fine.
The court considered his undertrial imprisonment of four months and 15 days as sentence under the Foreigners Act.
The court also accepted his plea for bargaining. The prosecutor submitted that Khan surrendered before police immediately after realising that the period of his visa had expired. His overstay was not considered to be intentional as he was not involved in any crime.
Yesterday, the magistrate had recorded his plea admitting guilt.
