Hyundai Motor India 198,625 vehicles sales in 2006

Chennai, Sept 1 (UNI) Hyundai Motor India sold a total of 198,625 vehicles in the current year 2006 so far, achieving a growth of 19.2 per cent over the January-August sales in 2005.

According to a company release here, While domestic sales in this period were 123,583 units - a growth of 18.5 per cent over the previous year, overseas sales during the period stood at 75,042 units - a growth of 20.4 per cent, the release added.

In August 2006, HMIL recorded a combined sale of 26,374 units achieving a growth of 8.5 per cent over the same period in 2005.

The number of vehicles sold in the domestic market for the month is 16,101 recording a growth of eight per cent over August'05. The exports grew by 9.2 per cent with sale of 10,273 units in August'06 over the corresponding month in year 2005.
