HC dismisses Sajjan Kumar's stay plea
New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) The Delhi High court today dismissed Congress MP Sajjan Kumar's petition seeking stay on the trial court proceedings in a case under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Justice AK Sikri, however, exempted the Congress leader from personal appearance when the trial court will hear the matter tomorrow.
Mr Kumar is facing a trial for allegedly making derogatory remarks against a particular community on March 11, 2002, while persuading CS Rachhoya, the complainant, to withdraw candidature from a local election.
