Gujarat to sing Vande Mataram en masse

Ahmedabad, Sept 1 (UNI) Gujarat will witness en masse singing of Vande Mataram on September 7 following the song being accepted as national song 100 years ago, an official statement said.

An official function has been scheduled at Gandhinagar in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue at 1030 hrs in the Vidhan Sabha premises.

All departmental heads and high-level officials have been told to be present to sing the song on on Septemeber 7, the statement added.

The song would also be sung at 1100 hrs by all government employees at their respective departments, at all municipal corporations, town headquarters, gram panchayats, village-level blocks in the state. All government organisations, corporations, educational institutions, government-aided organisations too would be singing in chorus on that day at the same time.
