Four 200-yr-old idols stolen from temple in Kotwali area

New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) Four ashtadhatu idols were stolen from a 200-year-old temple in Kotwali area of North Delhi in the early hours today.

The nearly one-foot long ashtdhatu idols of Laxmi, Vishnu, Radha and Krishna were found missing by the patrons of the nearly 200-year-old family temply of Laxmi-Narayan, as it is popularly known in the locality, according to sources.

Shanti Devi, member of Raj Bahadur Gupta, patron of the temple, found the idols missing when she reached there for her daily puja.

The matter was reported to the police at about 1100 hrs.

Police said the temple had no doors and was not 200-years-old as was being claimed.

Investigation were on.
