Deora asks PSUs to desist from striking work
New Delhi, Sept 1: Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora appealed to the officers and other employees of public sector oil companies from going on strike as the sector is passing through ''challenging times,''.
Mr Deora said the government fully understands the situation facing the oil firms who are saddled with huge under-recoveries (Rs 73,000 crores).
Oil companies including IOC, BPCL and ONGC have threatened to go on strike if their demand on pay parity and related issues were not looked after.
Mr Deora was speaking at the IOC day celeberations.
