Commissioner threatens punitive action against NHAI authorities

Kishanganj, Sep 1 (UNI) Purnia Division Commissioner R.K.Khandelwal has asked the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to upkeep the NH-31 between Baisi and Dagarwa and complete the work on four-lane between Dalkola and Dagarwa.

The commissioner wrote a letter to the authorities and urged them to send a team to study the road condition there.

The commissioner, who travelled to Kishanganj from Purnia by road, has had the harrowing experience and felt flabbergasted at the insensitivity and callousness of both NHAI and road contractors. The extremely dilapidated condition of long stretch of the existing NH caused immense hardships and bottleneck for the heavy vehicular traffic on this important highway.
