BSF jawan hurt himself by his own rifle

Bongaon, Sep 1(UNI) A BSF jawan wounded seriously from his service rifle while he was on duty at Angrai border outpost in Indo-Bangla border in North 24 Parganas district today, police said.

The 39-year old jawan, a resident of Rajasthan, apparently tried to kill himself as he triggered his rifle and bullet ppierced his abdomen. He was admitted to SSKM hospital in Kolkata.

A case was registed with the Bangaon police station in this respect.

The jawan might have been suffering from mental depression, BSF sources said.
