3.5 tonne laddoo offered to Lord Ganesha at Jamnagar pandal

Jamnagar, Gujrat, Sep 1 (UNI) As Lord Ganesh is known for his penchant for food, a laddoo weighing 3.5 tonne is being offered at a pandal here during the Ganesh Utsav celebrations.

It took 48 hours for 250 people to prepare the laddoo, with a height of five-feet and length of 12 feet. The costs ran upto at least Rs 1.75 lakh.

''We decided to make a gigantic laddoo as it is Ganeshji's favourite sweet,'' said Bharatsinh Parmar, president of the Dagadu Sheth Sarvajanik Mahotsav, which has put up the pandal.

He said 1,500 kg wheat, 600 kg dalda ghee, 100 kg pure ghee, 50 kg dry fruits, 250 kg sugar, 600 kg treacle, 450 kg oil, etc were used in the laddoo. Ten gas cylinders were used in the process, he added.
