Wife of late Vasant Chavan stakes claim for RS seat
Mumbai, Aug 31 (UNI) NCP spokesman Madan Bafna today confirmed that wife of former Rajya Sabha (RS) MP Vasant Chavan, Ms Neelima Chavan has staked claim for the vacant RS seat.
Mr Bafna today said she has already applied with the party for the post that has fallen vacant due to the death of her husband in July this year.
''The final decision will be taken by Sepetember six after the meeting of party parliamentary board,'' he added.
Meanwhile, name of Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Pawar-Sule, is also making round in the political circle as a possible candidate for the post.
