Two killed, three injured in CISF firing in Bengal
Haldia, Aug 31 (UNI) Two people were killed and three injured when some Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawans opened fire at a market place here in West Midnapore district.
The incident occurred following an altercation between the jawans and local people in the market.
However, the reason of the dispute was yet to be ascertained, District Magistrate (West Midnapore) Anup Agarwal told UNI.
One of the injured had been referred to the NRS Medical College and hospital for treatment, Mr Agarwal said.
Senior police officials had rushed to the area following the incident.
Tension ran high in the area following the incident.
A police picket had been set up in the area.
