Mukhopadhaya sworn in judge of Madras HC
Chennai, Aug 31 (UNI) Mr Justice Sudhansu Jyoti Mukhopadhaya, who was transferred from Jharkhand High Court, was today sworn in as judge of the Madras High Court.
Chief Justice A P Shah administered the oath of office to Mr Justice S J Mukhopadhaya at a simple function held at the High Court premises.
Advocate General R Viduthalai, Presidents of Various Advocates Association welcomed the new judge.
In his reply, Mr Justice S J Mukhopadhaya thanked the Bench and Bar.
With his appointment, the total number of judges in Madras High Court has gone up to 44 against the sanctioned strength of 49.
