Kalraj appeals for help for the reconstruction of villages

Jaipur, Aug 31 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and party in charge of Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra has appealed to all sections of people to render assistance for reconstruction of the flood- devastated villages in Barmer district.

Addressing a press conference here today after visiting the district where 104 people were killed in the flash floods, he said the destruction was ''enormous'' and expresed satisfaction over the progress of the relief work. ''The relief work is going on in a war footing. But the herculean task before the government is the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the villagers displaced by the flood,'' he said, noting that this could not be accomplished by the effrots of the government alone and appealed to NGOs and corporate houses to also come forward.

''Another problem facing the government is the villagers were not prepared to relocate to any other area,'' Mr Mishra said.
