Drug peddler held with heroin worth Rs 50 lakh

Varanasi, Aug 31 (UNI) A drug peddler has been arrested from Lanka area here and heroin worth Rs 50 lakh in international market seized from him.

Police said Mahendra Pratap Singh, a resident of Chaubeypur area, was held near Malviya crossing late last night, following a tip off.

The contraband was seized from Singh, who used to buy the narcotic from Pramod Chaubey of Khajuri area of the city.

A case had been registered in this regard.
