Answers to questions deemed to have been answered
Hyderabad, Aug 31 (UNI) Owing to the disruption of Andhra Pradesh Assembly proceedings by Telengana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) members, answers for all questions were deemed to have been answered for one more day in the House today.
The TRS members want the Assembly to pass a resolution recommending to the Centre to form a separate Telangana state.
During the current Monsoon session of the Assembly, regular Question-Answer session was possible only for one day yesterday.
Soon after 18 TRS members were suspended today, the Speaker adjourned the House for half-an-hour and held a meeting of the floor leaders. When the House re-assembled, he announced that all the questions were deemed to have been answered and all the papers laid on the table of the House.
While the Speaker wanted to straight away go for Zero Hour during which matters of urgent importance could be raised, leader of the Opposition, N Chandrababu Naidu wanted Zero Hour to be suspended to facilitate the completion of the debate on the land acquisition for the outer ring road. He expressed fear that the House would be adjournned sine-die without completing ongoing discussion.
However, Nomula Narasimhaiah of the CPI(M) and other floor leaders wanted at least a Special Mention to be allowed on issues of importance. Even as the Speaker clarified that there was no difference between the Special Mention and the Zero Hour mention, the Opposition leaders insisted on Special Mentions and the Speaker gave them one minute each to speak on urgent issues.
