Woman jumps to death with two sons from Pavagadh hills
Vadodara, Aug 30 (UNI) A 35-year-old woman jumped to death along with her two children from the famous Pavagadh hills, about 50 km from here.
The woman, identified as Darshana Baria, wife of a primary school teacher Ramesh Baria, reportedly took the extreme step yesterday because of her husband's alleged affair with a co-teacher.
According to Halol police sources, Darshana left her Jambughoda residence for the holy shrine of Maa Kalika atop the Pavagadh hills soon after a verbal duel with both her husband and sister-in-law, Shantoo.
She pushed both her sons - Ritesh (11) and Umesh (9) into a rivulet about 300 ft down the hills and later jumped down herself.
On being informed by the pilgrims, fire brigade personnel fished out the bodies of the trio and sent them to the Halol hospital for post-mortem.
On the basis of a suicide note left by the woman, police today detained her husband and his paramour along with Darshana's sister-in-law for questioning.
