Visa racketeers to be cracked down by officials
Dubai, Aug 30 (UNI) Faced with the influx of unskilled and medically unfit workers from abroad, the UAE has decided to crack down on visa racketeers.
Minister of Labour Ali Abdullah Al Ka'abi said from September 1, online labour contracts would be issued through competent bodies in manpower exporting countries like India and others, and not by employers as has been the case.
The hired employee will sign the contract in the presence of Labour Ministry officials of the concerned country.
A copy will be e-mailed to the UAE to be kept on record as a true copy of contractual document with the employee.
This procedure would help tackle unscrupulous visa traders in their countries and help monitor manpower exports.
Mr Al Ka'abi said he will visit India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal this November to discuss manpower export issues.
