United Phosphorus JV with Bayer CropScience AG

Mumbai, Aug 30: United Phosphorus Limited has entered into an agreement with Bayer CropScience AG Germany to buy certain crop protection products from the latter.

Announcing this to BSE, the company said the contract is valued at a purchase price of EUR 43.5 million including inventories. Under the terms of the agreement, United Phosphorus has purchased certain crop protection products from Bayer CropScience. This includes systemic carbamate herbicidal active ingredient Asulam (brand names Asulox Asilan ) and two insecticidal products.

Bayer CropScience has retained certain rights related to non-agricultural uses in strategic markets.

The contract is expected to enhance its product portfolio across markets with an intention to offer a broad portfolio of solutions to its customers, it added.
