Tata Sky-Star launch interactive Actve Sports on its satellite TV

Mumbai, Aug 30 (UNI) Tata Sky, the satellite television from Tata and Star today launched the revolutionary interactive Actve Sports service for cricket enthusiasts across the country.

The ongoing first England vs Pakistan one-day international being played at Cardiff has become the first cricket match broadcast by ESPN Star Sports to be covered by Actve Sports.

With this service, cricket fans would no longer need to wait for the broadcaster to provide match highlights, player statistics or ball trajectory. They can now access all these features at a press of a button, at any time during the match. Additionally, the viewers can get commentary in multiple languages, expert analyses and a 3-dimensional graphical representation of the match on Tata Sky's virtual stadium.

Speaking at the launch, Vikram Kaushik, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Sky, said that the company will be a forerunner in providing customers with cutting edge technology and on-demand services. Actve Sports is a new milestone in Indian sports entertainment. For the first time in the history of television in India, enthusiasts will be able to enjoy interactive cricket through our Actve Sports service, he added.

Tata Sky had recently launched its satellite television service across the country and is already home to leading broadcasters in the country including Star, Sony Discovery, Disney, MTV, ESPN Star Sports, National Geographic, Eenadu, TV Today, Asianet and many more.
