Select metal prices fall on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, Aug 30 (UNI) Select metal prices fell on poor industrial demand along with London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) today said.

In the ferrous segment, brass cuttings and aluminium utensils declined by Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on lack of fresh demand. But brass utensils went up by Rs 100 per quintal on better buying support.

In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bar and zinc slab eased by Rs 100 each per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Tin slab rose by Rs 13 per kg on reduced stock supply while nickel cathode declined by Rs ten per kg on increase offers by stockists.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 37,200, Copper utensils - Rs 32,200, Brass utensils - Rs 22,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,500 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,700.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,900, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,000, Zinc slab - Rs 19,000, Lead ingots - Rs 6,500, Tin slab - Rs 530 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,790 (per kg).
