Samajwadi party demands exclusion of Hardwar from Uttaranchal

Hardwar, August 30 (UNI) The Samajwadi party today demanded the exclusion of Hardwar&Udham Singh Nagar districts from Uttaranchal.

Addressing the rally here, Samajwadi Party MP from Hardwar Rajendra Badi said the people of the two district were being harassed by the state government&demanded the simplification of the rules regarding the issuance of domicile certificates&caste certificates by the district authorities.

Dharmendra Yadav another party MP from the region also said the ''districts of the plains'' had no affinity with the hill districts of Uttaranchal.

"Our struggle will continue till the people of the plains do not get justice and Hardwar&Udham Singh Nagar, are not restored to the parent state of UP," he added.

The Uttaranchal SP chief, Ambrish Kumar said the state government should give unemployment allowance to the educated youths on the pattern of Uttar Pradesh.

Terming the State Agricultural Land Fragmentation Law, which debars the farmers from selling their agriculture land in fragments for any purpose except agriculture, ''a black law,'' he demanded its immediate withdrawal.
