Rupee slighty weak at 46.51/52 per USD

Mumbai, Aug 30 (UNI) The Indian currency today closed slightly weak at Rs 46.51/52 per US dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.50 per US Dollar yesterday, the weakness can be attrributed to the strengthning of US Dollar against other Asian currencies, a money market trader here said.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate at Rs 46.51 per USD as compared to the previous rate of Rs 46.52 per USD.

The six-month forward premia was fixed low at 1.39 per cent and the one-year forward premia was also fixed low at 1.35 per cent.

Rupee performance against other currencies also declined, against Euro it was down at Rs 59.55 (59.48), against the Pound sterling it was down at Rs 88.33 (88.17), however against Yen it was up at Rs 39.68 (39.78).
