Rich tributes paid to Moopanar in Pondy

Pondicherry, Aug 30 (UNI) Floral tributes were paid to veteran Congress leader and founder of the erstwhile Tamil Manila Congress (TMC) G K Moopanar on his fifth death anniversary here today.

Pondicherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his cabinet colleagues and senior officals were among others, who garlanded the statue of Mr Moopanar at Marappalam near here on behalf of the territorial administration.

Pondicherry PCC president P Shanmugham and other office-bearers of the party also garlanded the statue to mark the occasion.

Earlier, rich tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of Mr Moopanar at the PCC office, in which Mr Rangasamy and Mr Shanmugham, among others participated.
