Review committee submitts report to PCC President
Hyderabad, Aug 30 (UNI) The report of the Review Committee on local body elections submitted its report to the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President K Keshava Rao here today.
Talking to newspersons after receiving the report Mr Keshava Rao said that the report would be very useful for the party and its suggestions would be carefully looked into, to strengthen the party.
He said the 85-page report, with four chapters, was an internal document and consolidated report on the perforamnce of the party in the recently concluded local body elections.
The Congress party appointed a nine-member committee to review the performance of the party and failures in some areas in the elections and for suggestions to strengthen the party in future.
The committee members had obtained the view of the district Congress Presidents, workers from the grass-roots level and role of the MLAS and concerned Ministers.
Mr Rao said it was a fact finding report and the party would take advantage it in the next Assembly elections. The committee members had conducted in-depth study and ascertained the mood of the workers and the people.
He said the committee had studied the election campaign points and the trends of the election campaign and future needs of the people.
The committee had also looked into the impact of the developmental activities taken up by the government.
Based on the suggestions given by the members in their report, Mr Rao expressed confidence that the Congress party would fare well in the next Assembly elections.
Convenor of the committee P Upendra who handed over the report to PCC President said they had completed the report within 40 days.
He said the report contained all aspects and suggestions to strengthen the party activities in future.
