Punjab's oldest man passes away

Phagwara, Aug 30 (UNI) The residents of this town today bid a farewell to 117-year-old Diwan Chand, the oldest man of Punjab.

Diwan Chand breathed his last at his Santokhpura locality residence yesterday.

He leaves a large family of 127 members including his sons, daughters and several grand children behind.

Diwan Chand's three sons Darshan Lal(90), who is suffering from paralysis, Sarwan Kumar(87) and Parkash Ram (75) were indeed proud of their father. '' He lived a happy life and nurtured the family tree with love and care'', they said.
