Pondy admn to consider Spl permit for school buses

Pondicherry, Aug 30 (UNI) The Pondicherry administration will consider for issuing special permits to school buses to take their students on excursion to other states, Education and Transport Minister M O H F Shajahan told the legislative assembly today.

Replying to a special mention in this regard from DMK member S P Sivakumar during zero hour, Mr Shajahan said some of the school buses were not in good condition and in such cases the government would consider the provision of buses owned by the Pondicherry Road Transport Corporation.

Earlier, AIADMK member A Anbazhagan, through a special mention brought to the notice of the government his protest on the appointment of chairmen to public accounts committee and estimate committee.

Mr Anbazhagan pointed out that while leader of the opposition A M H Nazeem has been appointed chairman public accounts committee, a newly-elected PMK member Anandaraman was made chairman of the estimate committee ignorning all senior members, including R Viswanathan (CPI), K Lakshminarayanan (PMC) and himself.

The AIADMK leader urged the government to immediately rectify it.
